Back I go

Posted by oddlyoptimistic under: Run.

Yes, yes usually this is where I get lost and never come back. But, I am back.
I had a couple of small issues. I only ran 1.5 miles. Then I walked for two laps and did another 0.75 of a mile. And, then I walked another 2 laps.
It was good to go back though.
I feel like I can do this.
I feel like I have gained so much weight. Probably from all the horrible chocolate. What is really amusing is that Natalie and I keep texting back and forth about how we each think we’re getting fatter and fatter, yet still eating insanely.
Yea Natters, that doesn’t make sense to me either.

Back to the track

Posted by oddlyoptimistic under: Run.

So with a week of seriously hell with school, I was far from achieving any running goals.
But, that is okay because I think it is understandable.
Anyway, while running the feeling of almost dying came back.
But, I look at it like this.

After I haven’t run for awhile I have to have a day to ease myself back into it. And, it has been like 9 days or something. Then, the second day I can run more again. So I can get back to more like 3 miles.
So not too upset. Essentially, I know that I haven’t been a big runner in the past so I have to really get myself in little by little.
Anyway, will try to head back tomorrow.

THREE MILES

Posted by oddlyoptimistic under: Run.

woo hoo.
I did it. I wanted to die towards the end but I did it. I’m starting to realize that it is all about how you begin. Seriously, if you get the breathing correctly at the beginning while you are running mile one, it just gets a lot lot lot easier.
Running anything past mile two was hard but I told myself that if I could run three miles, I could finish the horrible legal writing paper I have to do this week. And do it well. So there you go. That was my motivation this time.
I also don’t think I can just run three miles, three miles, three miles, three times a week. I think I have to run a mile, three miles, a mile or something.
I wanted to get up to four miles before I move back home for the summer. Not sure if I can attain that. I might be able to get to 3.5 miles which would be impressive too.
Ideally, by the end of the summer, I would like to be able to run six to seven miles straight. I think that will be my goal. Wouldn’t that be something?
I think for sure I want to run a 5k pretty soon and then a 10k by the end of the summer. 10k = 6.2 miles so maybe pushing it to 7 will be good stuff.

Three miles. I know it may not seem like that much to most runners and all but hey, it was a pretty big thing for me!

Back to one mile

Posted by oddlyoptimistic under: Run.

So I ran yesterday after a little under a week and wanted to at least do 2.5 miles again.
But, I just was in so much pain. Seriously. My stomach hurt, I felt like I was going to throw up about half a mile into the whole thing. It was depressing.
So I only ran one mile.
At least, I ran one mile. It was sad though because my legs hurt so much and they still hurt today…which makes no sense. I mean I didn’t even run more than I thought.
Anyway, tomorrow or I guess later today, I will head back out to the track.

10 laps = 2.5 miles!

Posted by oddlyoptimistic under: Run.

YAY! So it starts to hurt during lap 2. But, I know once I do one mile I’m good.
Then when I do one mile, I know I can do another.
It’s all mind games.
I want to know when I can just run and not pay attention to what’s going on around with the pain and agony.
During the 8th lap, I was definitely in pain. 9 was hard and 10…was really hard.
I can’t wait until it just becomes second nature. But, I obviously have to go through this.

It is painful

Posted by oddlyoptimistic under: Run.

Seriously running is painful.
Somehow I want to think that after awhile running gets less painful but it really doesn’t.
I guess I have to just keep running even though you feel the pain.
Eventually maybe after running 10 miles 2 miles will be like a piece of cake or something.
I don’t know.

Moving on to the track

Posted by oddlyoptimistic under: Run.

On Friday, I could barely run three laps around the track. I almost went home and cried because I thought, what has happened? Have I lost all my willpower.
But today, I just ran. And ran. And. Eminem “Till I collapse” helped me keep going. ahaha. It was awesome.
Anyway, my goal is to get to three miles by the end of the summer. Whoo hoo.

and then I fell off the treadmill

Posted by oddlyoptimistic under: General Cardio; Run.

Oh man. That was one of the more embarrassing moments of my life.
I was running, feeling good. All of a sudden, I felt myself slipping. I was hanging on to the two sides but I couldn’t reach to pull the Emergency stop thing.
So I knew it was going to hurt like insanity…and I let go.
I let go and fell off the treadmill. But definitely not before I burned the skin of several parts of my shins and calves.
Fun times.
I think I’m going to move to the track. I live in Southern California.
The weather’s nice.

Ran another two miles. Feeling pretty good. Can study for longer now. My legs hurt and my injured foot hurt while I was running but I guess that is to be expected.
