6.21 miles- can you believe it?

Wow. First mandatory long run with the club. The run started at 8am but the gym didn’t open till 9am, and I had left my running shoes in my locker. I knew the route so I talked to the coach and ran it. I was fortunate in that a friend of mine said she would hang out with me and run at 9am.
Thank you Helen. I don’t think I could have run it without her. I wanted to stop in MIle 2. It was the first time I was running on the street after awhile which is vastly different to running on the track. Vastly different. I guess the hills, incline, potholes and loud street noises had something to do with it. But, I’m seriously. I wanted to stop running in Mile 2 and it was brutal continuing. I will never doubt the advantages of a running partner ever again.
Pain wise: While I was running, my sides hurt a lot. My lower back. My right ankle was starting to hurt. The right ankle pain went away pretty soon but the sides definitely didn’t. I need to figure out what is going on there. Why does it hurt so much? Is it something to do with the way I run you think? It is a little hard to ice it and stuff considering.

About the pain in your side, are they cramps, or a stitch in your side? Either way, a good side stretch before every run might prevent the pain. Is 10 K your usual distance?
