Wow. First mandatory long run with the club. The run started at 8am but the gym didn’t open till 9am, and I had left my running shoes in my locker. I knew the route so I talked to the coach and ran it. I was fortunate in that a friend of mine said she would hang out with me and run at 9am.
Thank you Helen. I don’t think I could have run it without her. I wanted to stop in MIle 2. It was the first time I was running on the street after awhile which is vastly different to running on the track. Vastly different. I guess the hills, incline, potholes and loud street noises had something to do with it. But, I’m seriously. I wanted to stop running in Mile 2 and it was brutal continuing. I will never doubt the advantages of a running partner ever again.
Pain wise: While I was running, my sides hurt a lot. My lower back. My right ankle was starting to hurt. The right ankle pain went away pretty soon but the sides definitely didn’t. I need to figure out what is going on there. Why does it hurt so much? Is it something to do with the way I run you think? It is a little hard to ice it and stuff considering.

Five miles! It was pretty tough though. My stomach really hurt afterwards. Really. Hurts a little still. And I am starving. I ate a foot long sub and I am still hungry. My back really hurt too. Oh dear. I wonder how much worse it will be when I have to run 10 miles. And, I am so slow. At this rate, it is going to take me like six hours to run the marathon.

tried to do a handstand in my yoga class and it was a no go. I hadn’t gone to a yoga class for a week so was more than a little in pain. Still I feel the yoga is shaping my body well so shall continue.

Best run I have ever had. No idea why. Not an exhausting day or anything. The first mile was kind of tough, second was fine, third i felt so great. I don’t know what it was.
But towards the end, I even sped up and felt amazing. I was kinda gliding through the run. I know I was running a lot faster than I usually do and everything too.
Maybe that is the trick. Run faster you know? I was listening to defying gravity from Wicked and maybe that helped too.
It was amazing. I love running at night, without any sun. It was wonderful.
I gotta run three miles tomorrow in the morning in like…a few hours.

Too hot. Southern California, I hate to break it to you but it is October. It is time for you to act like it is October.
I wanted to do two miles but I could only do 1.5. It was just unbearably hot and I’m still suffering from a pretty bad cold. So the pressure in my nose was pretty painful. That is probably way too much information.
I was disappointed but I’m not going to get all heartbroken. Tomorrow is another day and I’m not going to run in the sun again. Three miles tomorrow baby.
